Building Schools in Guatemala
February 2010- Chuguexa IV
We have chosen the village of Chuguexa IV (shew-gwā-shá) for our February 2010 project. The village is about 4 km past our first site Agua Viva (km post 104). The population is around two hundred and there are over a hundred children attending school in the building you see in the picture. Around twenty-five students are packed into each of four rooms. They have four teachers and have requested that we build a three-room school. To do this we will have to raise over twenty thousand dollars and will have two consecutive volunteer teams go to Guatemala… The first one will go on February thirteen, the second on February twenty.
We have also been asked to add an additional room on the school we built in Rio Mactzul in 2009, which we will try to do in late 2010.
